Six Selection factors
If you meet all the minimum requirements, we’ll then assess your application based on:
- Age
- Education
- Work experience
- Whether you have a valid job offer
- English and/or French language skills
- Adaptability (how well you’re likely to settle in Canada)
These factors are part of a 100-point grid used to assess eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. You earn points for how well you do in each of the 6 factors. The current pass mark is 67 points.

Provincial Nomination Program
The PNP is for candidates who have the skills, education and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory want to live in that province and want to become permanent
residents of Canada. Each province and territory has its own “streams” (immigration programs that target certain groups) and requirements. Normally, it can be categorized into student, business people, skilled worker and semi-skilled worker. The PNP can be the paper-based process, or the online process through Express Entry.
